Description

LevelC – the hydraulic levelling system for caravans

The ground on a campsite or pitch can often be uneven, which can make manually levelling a caravan take a lot of time. The LevelC fully automatic hydraulic levelling system comfortably levels your caravan within a few minutes at the push of a button.

The advantages of LevelC at a glance

  • Fully automatic levelling in just a few minutes
  • Stable and secure stance
  • Single- and double-axle caravans up to 3.5 tonnes gross weight
  • Maintenance-free
  • Completely hydraulic 6-support system
  • Low additional weight
  • Includes AL-KO Big Foot steady legs for the perfect stance

How the LevelC system works

The fully automatic LevelC system aligns the caravan horizontally along its longitudinal and transverse axes via two hydraulic cylinders mounted on the axle and four hydraulic corner steadies. The vehicle thus comes to a stable horizontal position within a few minutes. The six hydraulic supports are connected to the vehicle chassis and the axle by mounting plates. The intelligent algorithm prevents damaging torsional forces from being transmitted to the vehicle chassis.

The control is simple and intuitive. The levelling process can be started at the touch of a button via a permanently installed control panel, by remote control or via a mobile touchpad. For special cases, individual positions can be approached in manual mode.

Due to its low additional weight of approx. 20 kg, the LevelC system only minimally restricts the vehicle’s potential payload.

Added benefit: Anti-theft protection

The LevelC for caravans not only enables the caravan to be levelled fully automatically in the shortest possible time; it also ensures that the caravan cannot be moved after that. This keeps it safe from theft when unattended.

LevelC easy to retrofit

The E&P LevelC for caravans can be retrofitted to almost all common single- and double-axle chassis. The system consists of two hydraulic axle supports, four hydraulic corner steadies, the central hydraulic power unit, hydraulic lines, the electronic control unit and the control panel.

All components are mounted to the caravan axle and lower base with suitable adapters and no welding required. Only one battery, which may already be fitted, is required to operate the 12 V hydraulic pump. Depending on the chassis, we or one of our service partners will carry out the installation within one working day.

The LevelC compact system

Caravan owners often also want partially automated systems that still offer the familiar hand crank supports. The LevelC compact system was developed to fulfil this customer request. The LevelC compact system horizontally aligns the caravan in the transverse direction using two axle cylinders. The caravan can then be aligned longitudinally using the jockey wheel and stabilised with the aid of the manual crank supports.

FAQ

Although this is useful to protect the tyres during long periods of storage, it cannot completely stop tyre wear. Extended supports during the winter break can also help to prevent the handbrake from sticking and secure the caravan against theft. If you leave the system in use for a longer period of time, please use a silicone-based protective spray for the axle supports to extend their service life.
The caravan levelling system requires a fully charged battery to operate. It is an auto levelling device needing power, just like a fridge, heating system, or motor mover. Our system software is designed to protect the battery and, therefore, if the battery voltage is low then the hydraulic levelling system cannot be used and an alarm will sound on the control panel to indicate this. In the event your battery voltage is too low, you can hook up to the site electrics, or your towing vehicle to recharge it.
12 Volts The E&P Hydraulics Level C system takes its power from the caravan leisure battery and it doesn't take much when compared to motor movers.
The levelling system installation can take upto 8 hours, depending on the caravan in question. You would therefore be required to leave your caravan with the Installer for a full working day (08:30 - 16:30 typically). Our Installation Partners will happily advise on any travel and accommodation questions you may have.
The warranty of the caravan manufacturer is not affected by the fitting of the Level C system. Caravan manufacturers fit corner steadies to their vans in line with guidance and approval from AL-KO, who supply the corner steadies. AL-KO have tested the E&P system and given their approval for our corner steady in a report which determined that the Level C system actually prevents too much force being applied through the corner steadies, when compared to a standard corner steady, thereby helping to protect the floor of the caravan. The E&P Level C system is compatible with all makes and model of caravan and is offered by various OEM’s as standard fitment, or as an optional extra, as well as being offered in the aftermarket only through our approved Partners.
No, the caravan needs to be empty, even if it's raining! Having people moving within the caravan will cause the level sensor to go out of synchronisation. It is also important that you keep watch on what is happening around and underneath the caravan, so get everyone involved in checking for hazards.
Normal conditions = 11 amp + 1-2 seconds at 17 amp when over pressurising to ensure all jacks are fully retracted. Extreme conditions (e.g. Cold weather) = 17 amp.
